Friday Recap

Well, It's cold!  Its snowy!  and I am really hoping the groundhog sees is shadow?  Is that what I want?  No!!! I had to stop a moment a look it up.  Please Mr Groundhog...do not see your shadow!! I am begging you.

I am getting desperate for porch sitting weather.  I know we are barely through half of our winter but a girl can hope.  I'm tired of moving slow like a snail.  I want to get outside and smell the fresh air and see buds on the trees and all the things.  Until then...I will slow walk through winter.

Our week started with a snow storm, not unlike most people in the United States...Fern was a big storm wasn't she?  We got about 13-14 inches and the cold has been so brutal all week.  I am such a fair weather girl.  I could easily become a snow bird.  I really think I could.

We began our week with online church.  We love Calvary Chapel Chino Hills.  This week they had guest speaker Ken Ham from Answers in Genesis.  He spoke on the first 11 chapters of Genesis.  I just love his ministry and used to use it all the time for our school.  Honestly it was the highlight of my week.

I am creating wedding flowers for a December 2026 wedding and I began the work this week of painting my papers and assembling roses in various shades of red.  I love to keep my hands busy so until I can get out in my garden and play in the dirt this is what I will be doing.  When I'm finished I will pack them away where they are safe and dry and away from sunlight until its time to assemble them.

I made Hot Chicken Salad this week.  It was quite good and most importantly it was comfort food.  When do we need comfort food more than when we are stuck in hibernation mode.

I've been reading through Genesis and Matthew this month and this week I'm afraid I've made little progress but today I feel better about it.  Idk if its the cold that has me distracted or what but I was having a hard time concentrating and my sleep has been a bit messed up this week as well.

February is right around the corner and March follows so we can do this!  I'm feeling hopeful on this last Friday of January of this what feels like a never ending winter here in Ohio.

This is about the extent of my week and I am sorry that I am rambling but that is what is fun about blogging...you get to ramble about everything and nothing.  I will say I have quite enjoyed my afternoon cup of hot tea with honey and cream most especially this week.  It has warmed me from the inside out all week.  Looking at the clock on my phone I see it is about that time once again.

Keeping it real on this wintry yet sunny day!

Happy weekend!!

Until next time...
